Curve announces plans for global expansion
Fintech start-up Curve, whose platform allows users to combine their credit and debit cards into one card and an app, is expanding internationally, Jane Connolly reports.
The UK-based company has announced plans to open six new offices across Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal and Poland.
A multi-discipline, Europe-wide recruitment drive will begin with the appointment of six country managers. Leading the hunt will be Curve’s new head of talent, Alaister Mortlock, formerly of LinkedIn and Centrica.
“We are extremely excited to be fulfilling our goal to export our brand internationally and to create a new generation of users that have greater financial control over their lives,” says Curve CEO and founder, Shachar Bialick.
Shachar added that the appointment of Alaister would provide Curve with useful expertise in scaling at a rapid pace, while preserving the company’s culture and values. The intention is to scale up Curve’s recruitment throughout 2019 and 2020.
Since its launch out of beta last year, Curve has reported 30% month-on-month growth and claims to have seen over half a billion pounds go through the platform.
