Tech Nation opens applications for fintech leadership programme
Applications are open for Tech Nation’s 2019 fintech growth programme for leaders of the UK’s most promising scale-ups, reports Jane Connolly.
Delivered as part of HM Treasury’s fintech strategy, the six-month programme – starting in September 2019 – is designed to connect fintech founders, provide networking opportunities with key figures in the industry and create opportunities for further growth.
Nine themed insight sessions, focusing on a range of topics from regulation to international expansion, will be delivered by leading fintech entrepreneurs. The programme culminates with a three-day showcase trip to the US.
A panel of judges, including Tech Nation chair and partner at Passion Capital, Eileen Burbidge, will select 25 companies to take part in the programme.
Applicants must be UK-based and have a product in market used actively. External funding is not a requirement, but companies must be at a stage of development equivalent to seed or Series A investment.
“Tech Nation’s fintech programme identifies the rising stars in the industry and helps them scale to even greater horizons,” says Greg Michel, Tech Nation fintech lead. “The last cohort of companies have closed multiple funding rounds, won prestigious awards, struck strategic partnerships and expanded abroad while on the programme.”
Michel is looking to replicate this success by connecting and creating opportunities for the most promising fintech companies wherever they are based in the country so that they can compete on the global stage.
Applications close on 9 July and can be completed online.
