Floatbot creates chatbot for Andhra Bank
Andhra Bank has integrated an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, built by Floatbot, into its core banking servers to support its 50 million customers, reports Jane Connolly.
The Bangalore-based start-up is also developing an internal chatbot to help the bank with on-boarding and training of its 20,000-plus staff.
Designed to provide digital engagement and automated customer support, the AI chatbot went through a rigorous testing process involving more than 50,000 queries.
Floatbot CEO, Jimmy Padia, says this is one of very few instances of an Indian bank allowing a cloud-based chatbot delivery, which he hopes will set a trend for other banks and insurance companies in the country.
He adds: “We are happy to partner with Andhra Bank in its digital transformation journey to automate customer support through conversational AI that can resolve customers’ queries and provide banking services in English, Hindi and Hinglish. In the next phase, we intend to enable banking services for all regional languages on channels such as WhatsApp and Google Assistant. We have provided AI chatbot solution ABHi to Andhra Bank on Floatbot’s cloud that is MietY approved.”
Floatbot was incubated at NASSCOM Centre of Excellence DS-AI, an initiative of the Department of IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka. The start-up has also launched an AI-based voicebot solution integrated with call centres that can interact with customers over the phone.
