SIA opens new payment cards centre in Verona
SIA has opened a new technological excellence centre in Verona that can personalise more than 10 million payment cards per year, Jane Connolly reports.
Capable of managing every stage of issuing, the facility can personalise all types of bank cards, loyalty cards and service-specific cards, using chip, contactless and biometric recognition technologies.
The payment services and infrastructures firm now offers complete card management services, from design through to the visualisation of cards on smartphones.
“With the inauguration of the new centre in Verona, SIA consolidates its role in digital payments as a reliable and secure technology partner, focusing on innovation to cover the entire value chain of e-money services while maintaining a high standard of quality,” says Eugenio Tornaghi, marketing and sales director of SIA.
He adds: “From pioneers in the digitalisation of payments having enabled the Alipay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and WeChat solutions in Italy, today we confirm our ‘bank friendly’ positioning making available to banks, both traditional and online, a customised physical card to be used as an authentic calling card with respect to the end user.”
SIA says the centre operates in line with the requirements of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Card Production and Provisioning standard of the payment circuits and uses a monitoring system compliant with the highest standards of security.
