ASOS and Klarna bring flexible payments to the US
British online fashion retailer, ASOS, has taken its partnership with Swedish flexible payments provider, Klarna, to the US market, Ruby Hinchliffe reports.
As of this month, US customers can choose to pay with four equal payments collected bi-weekly – with no interest or fees.
The US will pay in four scheduled bi-weekly instalments (Pay in 4) to reflect the American salary payout schedule.
“The addition of Klarna as a payment method in the US will help provide the best customer experience for our US customers,” says ASOS brand experience director Eve Williams. “We want to give our customers choice in everything we do.”
The original UK partnership kicked off in 2016 after Klarna’s success in wider Europe, but now its expansion into the US market alongside an established retailer will further purport its status as a leading challenger bank.
“Extending the ASOS partnership into the US speaks to Klarna’s global reputation among both its brand partners and customers,” says Klarna’s CCO Michael Rouse. “Paired with Klarna’s smoooth user experience and capabilities, ASOS customers in both the US and UK are now able to experiment and express themselves in the latest fashions with confidence.”
