JCB acceptance expands to UK and Ireland
Tokyo-based international payment brand, JCB, has partnered with global payments solution, EVO Payments, to enable JCB payment acceptance in the UK and Ireland, reports Jane Connolly.
Following a successful trial between the two companies in Poland in 2017, the move will give JCB the chance to expand its network of around 30 million merchant partners.
“Our partnership with JCB will allow the 130 million JCB card members to make payments at all EVO merchant sites across the UK and Ireland which are part of the JCB network,” says Darren Wilson, president international at EVO Payments.
He adds: “Expanding our card acceptance capabilities so that travelers from Asia can easily make card payments is an important enhancement to our merchant proposition.”
EVO’s merchant portfolio will give JCB more access to independent software vendor (ISV) providers who are active in the UK. It will also offer wider acceptance by SMEs, particularly those using integrated payments.
