BNP Paribas picks up stake in AssetMetrix
BNP Paribas has acquired a stake in AssetMetrix in a move it hopes will provide better information about investment in private equity to its investors.
BNP Paribas Securities Services will be deploying AssetMetrix within its private capital business. The bank hopes that its clients will be able to optimise decision-making and enhance risk monitoring.
Philippe Benoit, head of strategic business development and transformation at BNP Paribas Securities Services (SS), believes the deal is an “excellent example” of the work the bank is doing with fintechs.
Laurent Durdilly, head of private capital solutions at BNP Paribas SS, calls it a “major milestone” in the development of the bank’s private capital clients: “With this partnership, we will be able to offer our clients powerful analytics and reporting for their investors via a dedicated and interactive web portal for real-time monitoring and live scenario analysis.”
For founder and managing director of AssetMetrix, Emmeram von Braun, the new partnership is “an important next step” in the development of the firm’s independent platform and associated services. Emmeram also sees the deal as a way for his firm to expand into Asian markets.
