Euronext welcomes new COO Georges Lauchard
Former JP Morgan executive Georges Lauchard has joined pan-European stock market operator Euronext as COO and member of the managing board, reports Jane Connolly.
Georges previously worked at JP Morgan for over 20 years, holding numerous leadership roles in London and Hong Kong. In February 2018, he was appointed COO/CFO of the firm’s corporate and investment bank technology team.
His Paris-based role will oversee Euronext’s operational strategy, policies and execution as the company advances its ambition to become Europe’s leading market infrastructure.

“Euronext has delivered significant growth over the past four years whilst diversifying from a pure exchange to a key infrastructure-as-a-service player for the financial industry and the real economy,” he says. “I am looking forward to being part of the next phase of this journey as Euronext further accelerates its growth and scales its technology platform whilst driving innovation with our clients.”
Euronext CEO and chairman of the managing board, Stéphane Boujnah, says the company is excited to welcome Georges, adding, “His deep knowledge of our industry, as well as his experience in managing large and complex organisations and executing transformations at scale, will be a great addition to the team.”
Euronext is thought to be engaged in a head-to-head race with SIX to acquire Spanish exchange operator Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME).
