Fiserv acquires POS partner Bypass Mobile
Fiserv has acquired point-of-sale software vendor Bypass Mobile to boost its own omnichannel commerce capabilities.
Founded in 2010, Bypass Mobile provides software for fixed terminals, mobile devices, and desktop management software at restaurant chains, sports venues, and entertainment sites. The firm’s technology is already integrated into some of Fiserv’s systems.
Devin McGranahan, senior group president for global business solutions at Fiserv, says that the acquisition will make it easier for its clients to realise their “digital transformation strategy”.
With an integration of Bypass into Fiserv, the latter claims it will be able to create “new, secure purchasing experiences across connected devices.”
Brandon Lloyd, CEO of Bypass, says that his firm has “long admired” Fiserv.
He adds: “In an age of increasing customer expectations, it is critical that businesses have a robust and easy-to-use omni-commerce platform.
“In combination with Fiserv, we will help businesses accept payments efficiently while continuing to meet customer expectations by providing a variety of payment options.”
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Fiserv has been active in March, with two system selections and another acquisition to its name so far.
US Bank connected with Fiserv for an application programme interface (API) which would allow its customers to aggregate their financial data.
Interior Savings Credit Union picked Fiserv’s DNA core processing system earlier this month to improve its “flexibility”.
At the top of the month Fiserv announced the acquisition of its long-standing partner MerchantPro Express, a firm it had worked with for more than a decade.
