Swift names Nick Kerigan as new head of innovation execution
Swift has appointed Nick Kerigan as its new head of innovation execution.
He will report directly to the chief innovation officer (CIO). Kerigan will be responsible for shaping the vision for the department and its daily running in terms of strategy, resources and execution.

“It was a quite surreal way to start a big new role: a courier turns up with a secure delivery, an IT help desk colleague calls to set you up and then you are good to go,” Kerigan tells FinTech Futures.
“I’m impressed that Swift could handle it all remotely…bodes well for the innovation role!”
Kerigan also writes on his LinkedIn post that he is “really looking forward to working with Tom Zschach, Stephen Gilderdale and the whole team to innovate and help drive this great business forward.”
He was previously the managing director for Future Payments at Barclaycard. There he led Barclaycard’s innovation strategy for over nine years.
At Barclaycard, he was responsible for driving innovation globally across the cards and payments businesses, creating customer and commercial opportunities from the rapid changes in payments.
Prior to his role at Barclaycard, Kerigan spent almost five years as Barclays’ head of strategy for its Global Retail Bank arm.
Before joining Barclays, Kerigan was also a principle banker at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for nearly five years. He also spent three years at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as an associate.
