OE Federal Credit Union picks Symitar’s Episys system
California-based OE Federal Credit Union has selected the Episys core processing platfrom from Symitar, a division of Jack Henry & Associates.
According to the vendor, the $1.2 billion-asset credit union wanted a platform to support its growth. The firm wanted a new platform that could enable “significant gains in efficiency.”
OE Federal Credit Union claims the be the largest labour-based credit union in the US. Founded in 1964, It serves 135 union groups, 32 different trades, and over 82,500 members.
The institution says it is the credit union for “dirty hands, muddy boots, and hard hat hair”.
“It was clear to us that Jack Henry wanted our business, wanted a relationship with us – and not just to make a sale,” says Mike Donohue, president and CEO of OE FCU.
“Our credit union is intent on being future-ready, and Jack Henry gives us the best opportunity to anticipate our members’ needs and remain relevant.”
While an outsourced core wasn’t the plan for the credit union the benefits were “too great to refute”.
“We currently have more than 250 credit unions who have chosen to put their trust in our private cloud environment to run their core,” says Shanon McLachlan, president of Symitar.
“Partnership is critical to the success of our organisation. We’re proud that institutions like OE Federal find value in continually improving our technology together.”

Mr. Mike Donohue, I don’t understand how you allow your members to be treated like crap during this pandemic. Been a member for at lease 15 years and that means absolutely nothing. Instead of working something out with my family, you guys freeze our account then repo our only vehicles. I will never understand why this is how you run things. We did not creat this pandemic so why did your business stomp on my family? We are NOT bad people, we are NOT bums. I think that we deserved to be worked with not against. But maybe you just don’t care. Your moto is “we are here to help” but I guess that’s only for some and not for all your members. I know I won’t get an answer back but hope that at lease you read this.
