PayPal nabs Wells Fargo’s Peggy Mangot for venture capital role
PayPal has hired former Wells Fargo innovation executive, Peggy Mangot, who led the bank’s digital development for four years.
Mangot is joining PayPal Ventures as an operating partner. According to her listing of the role on social media, she will work out of the San Francisco Bay area.
Prior to her time at Wells Fargo, Mangot founded SparkGift, a micro-investing platform. She has also held positions at Google, Visa, and Allianz.
During her time at Wells Fargo Mangot led the development of the lender’s challenger bank and mobile app Greenhouse.
The app offers money management with two accounts that work together: one account for weekly spending tied to a debit card, and one account dedicated to savings and bills.
It includes a real-time debit card to use with a mobile wallet tied to the weekly spending account. User have access to both accounts at Wells Fargo ATMs and branches.
Recent investments by the team at PayPal Ventures include Pine Labs, crypto firm TRM Labs, and Japanese credit firm Paidy.
