Sustainable banking app Novus launches website and waiting list
London-based digital bank, Novus, is in the midst of launching its sustainable lifestyle application.
The firm calls its product the “next generation digital banking and lifestyle app for a sustainable future”.
Novus will provide the usual challenger bank fare of payments, money management tools, budgeting, and savings pots.
The fintech says it will allow users to track the impact of their spending with “every payment” and contribute to charitable causes automatically.
Customers can pick and choose which charities they can donate to via the app’s interface. Novus is currently taking suggestions on sectors it should help support.
Novus plans an in-app marketplace hosting “ethical and sustainable brands” across the UK. For every customer which joins its waiting list the firm promises to plant a tree.
The fintech is in the waitlist stage. According to its website early subscribers will have an opportunity to join a beta test of its app “soon”.
The neobank has a four-man founding team. CEO, Hristian Nedyalkov, spent three years at private equity firm Partners Group prior to Novus. Before that he spent 2014-2016 as a summer analyst and intern at Citi, BlueCrest, and HSBC.
Co-founders, Noah Bernet and Marco Wolf, also worked at Partners Group between 2016 and 2020 respectively.
Wolf has prior experience as a working student at Auctus Capital Partners, and as an intern at UniCredit.
Bernet spent two years as a research assistant at a Zurich university before joining Partners.
The final member of the team, Andoni Piña Sigg, worked at PG Impact Investments between 2016 and 2020.
