French telecoms firm launches prospective challenger bank
A prospective challenger bank has emerged in France promising to “revolutionise the banking system”.
Noelse is in the very early stages of development. At the time of writing its website is still under construction and displays a “coming soon” message.
The wannabe bank doesn’t disclose its origins anywhere online. Yet job applications for IT roles at Afone Infrastructure indicate Noelse is a spinoff of the French payments and telecoms firm.
On top of this, a handful of its employees either work or report having worked at Afone.
Afone describes Noelse as the “European neobank of tomorrow”.
Its disclosed team comprises of a handful of project managers with backgrounds in Google, Société Générale, and Cultura.
Senior content manager Noemie Esleon, for whom the neobank appears to be named, has made a series of blog posts about financial services.
In them, she appears to outline the ideals of the upcoming banks: putting people in control of their money and ensuring sustainable investments.
