Capital Group hires Marta Zarraga as new CIO
Capital Group, an investment company with $2.3 trillion in assets under management, has hired Marta Zarraga as its new chief information officer (CIO).
Zarraga has 25 years of industry experience. She originally joined Capital Group in late 2020. Prior to that she held the CIO role at Aviva, Vodafone, and British Telecom.
Zarraga also holds a masters degree in computer engineering from Universidad de Deusto.
“Technology is foundational to Capital Group’s business,” she says. “As the company continues to focus on expanding and strengthening its services to investors, data and technology remain critical enablers.
“It is a phenomenal opportunity to join a company that is so committed to its mission of improving people’s lives and so committed to its associates, and I am excited to leverage new technologies to help achieve that mission.”
Capital Group says it selected Zarraga due to her “exceptional technical qualifications [and] strong experience driving business value through technology”.
Founded in 1931, Capital Group calls itself one of the oldest and largest asset management companies in the world.
