Banque Misr kicks off digital transformation plans with Atos
Banque Misr, one of the largest banks in Egypt, has selected Atos to support its digital transformation project.
Atos will deliver a digital banking experience to customers, which it says is supporting the ambition of Banque Misr to “appeal to a broad demographic”.
The firm says its remit involves harnessing “best-of-breed technologies from a variety of leading vendors”.
Banque Misr wants to combine digital customer channels, support systems, enterprise integration and data handling.
Atos’ “transformation and banking reinvention expertise” won it the deal with the bank. It calls the project a “landmark” digital change in Egyptian banking.
Sherif Elbehery, Banque Misr’s digital innovation CEO, says the bank can now move forward with “renewed confidence”.
He adds: “This launch will offer a trusted digital banking experience that better suits the modern requirements of customers. [It is] a catalyst for renewed growth and investment across the country.”
Founded in 1920, Banque Misr operates 700 branches in its home country and employs 18,000 people. The bank hold assets of around €500 million.
