Sontiq acquires Breach Clarity to deploy analysis tech
Identity security firm Sontiq has acquired data breach intelligence firm Breach Clarity to gain use of its BreachIQ platform.
Following the deal all of Sontiq’s products – IdentityForce, Cyberscout, and EZShield – will feature BreachIQ as standard.
The system is immediately available to select Sontiq clients, with a wider rollout planned for Q2 of 2021. Neither firm has disclosed the financial details of the tie-up.
Breach Control says its service is an AI-driven algorithm, developed by co-founder Jim Van Dyke. The firm claims it can analyse 1,300 data points to discover the severity of a publicly reported data breach.
Van Dyke and fellow co-founder Al Pascual are joining Sontiq as a senior vice presidents.
“It is increasingly difficult for [consumers] to monitor who has their data and where it’s being leaked,” says Van Dyke.
“With the integration of our artificial intelligence algorithm and risk expertise, Sontiq will provide clarity to millions of consumers around their individualized risk profile.”
He adds: “In combination with personalized advice and recovery with Sontiq’s white-glove resolution experts, consumers have never been in better hands.”
Sontiq CEO, Brian Longe, says people wouldn’t accept “generic health advice” from a doctor, and the same applies to digital health.
“BreachIQ provides the kind of analysis individuals aren’t getting anywhere else, and have gone without for too long.”
Sontiq claims an active first quarter of 2021. Breach Clarity is its second acquisition this year, following the purchase of insurance security firm Cyberscout.
The same period saw the Boston-based firm launch a new intelligent identity platform and a patent-pending reputation management utility.
