ClearBank appoints Tom Harris as new CTO
ClearBank has looked internally for its new chief technology officer (CTO), appointing head of engineering Tom Harris to the role.
Harris joined ClearBank in 2018 as a software developer and stepped into the engineering role in May 2019. The firm says he has been “instrumental” in its building the technology side of ClearBank.
Harris will continue to report to Stuart Morley, ClearBank’s chief information officer (CIO).
“This appointment is reflective of the significant impact Tom has made to the business over the last three years,” says Nigel Walder, ClearBank chief operating officer (COO).
“His knowledge and passion for technology has proven to be a real asset, which will be instrumental as we move into the next phase of ClearBank’s growth and evolution.
“Our people are at the heart of every success and milestone we have achieved at ClearBank so far. Tom’s appointment will not only help drive this going forward but also demonstrates our continued focus on developing and promoting talent from within the business.”
ClearBank has banking deals with cryptocurrency exchange Gemini and payments processor Viva Wallet.
Other recent ClearBank customers include Jamaica National Bank’s UK arm, and UK-based credit unions Hoot and Lanarkshire Credit Union.
In September 2020 it partnered up with JP Morgan to offer multi-currency accounts through an API.
