Raiffeisen Switzerland selects Backbase to power new digital interface
Raiffeisen Switzerland has selected Backbase to develop its customer-facing interface.
Described by the vendor as a “long term partnership”, the deal is part of Raiffeisen’s ongoing digitalisation programme.
The bank’s objectives include evolving into a solutions provider and plans to develop a new digital interface for its customers.
Raiffeisen Switzerland is a collective of 246 independent banks, which share 896 branches across the country.
The cooperative has around 3.8 million clients in Switzerland, 1.9 million of which are members. It is the third-largest lender in the country and holds assets of around $245 billion.
Backbase is providing its Engagement Banking Platform for Raiffeisen’s small business and retail banking operations.
David Schlösser, the bank’s transformation stream lead, says he is “convinced” the partnership will “help us focus on what’s most important – the needs of our customers.”
In 2019 the cooperative went live on Avaloq’s core banking system, completing one of the largest IT projects in Swiss history.
