Software firm Sage acquires fintech start-up GoProposal
Business management and financial software company Sage has acquired UK-based fintech GoProposal, a provider of proposal management software for small and medium-sized accountancy firms.
The acquisition marks the fourth fintech investment by the UK firm in the last 12 months. Financial details have not been disclosed.
Sage says the acquisition of GoProposal’s automated pricing, proposal, and engagement letter solutions will enable the company to offer “end-to-end customer proposal management capabilities”.
GoProposal’s offering will be available to Sage customers on a standalone basis and as a product within the Sage portfolio.
The acquisition comes as UK accountants prepare their SME clients for the upcoming Making Tax Digital for VAT and Income Tax and Self-Assessment deadlines, as the UK government aims to simplify and digitise tax administration.
Sage’s chief strategy and development officer Derk Bleeker says the company hopes to help accountancy firms to “digitise their practices” in the wake of the pandemic, allowing them to “operate efficiently and profitably”.
