Saigon Commercial Bank to revamp cards offering with BPC
Saigon Commercial Bank (SCB) has selected BPC’s SmartVista Platform for switching and card management.
The project is intended to improve SCB’s payment offerings including facilitating card transactions at ATM, point-of-sale (POS) and via e-commerce and reducing the time to issue cards.
Features will be added to SCB’s internet and mobile banking channels to allow customers to manage their card service needs.
SCB will also deploy self-service Virtual Teller Machines to help onboard and issue cards for customers and facilitate transactions.
The bank will further extend its POS acquiring business in partnership with Visa and Mastercard using the SmartVista solution.
Nguyen Ngoc Nha Nam, deputy CEO of operations and IT division at SCB, says: “As a leading bank in Vietnam, we invest strongly in new generation technology to spearhead digital adoption among our retail and business clients.”
Terry Steven Paleologos, managing director of BPC Asia Pacific, says: “SCB was seeking a low-code, API-first platform flexible enough to keep control over their strategy.”
Vietnam, with a population of 97 million, is predicted to see mobile transactions increase by 300% between 2021 and 2025 due to anticipated strong growth in mobile payments. Around 80% of Vietnamese consumers predict an increase in their use of cashless payments and a diminishing reliance on cash.
