Sports and entertainment-focused fintech SEMA launches in US
A new fintech catering to those in the sports and entertainment industries has launched in the US.
SEMA — which stands for Sports, Entertainment, Music and Arts — offers athletes, YouTubers, influencers, artists and entrepreneurs personalised concierge financial services including card issuance, wealth management, networking opportunities and webinars.
SEMA says members will also have access to celebrity consultations from sports agents and entertainment attorneys, in-depth ‘1-on-1’ interviews and conversations with executives and receive ‘VIP’ rewards, such as fine dining experiences.
The fintech, which launched 1 November, has partnered with card issuance service CARD.com to launch a collection of Visa cards with personalised or SEMA-branded designs.
SEMA says members can open up to three accounts, with which they can use their cards to get paid up to two days faster, deposit cheques via mobile, withdraw cash for free at selected cash machines and pay no monthly maintenance fees. Members can use their cards everywhere Visa is accepted.
In the future, the start-up says it intends to offer insurance and loans at exclusive rates for members.
