Aladin Bank turns to Google Cloud for Islamic banking tech innovation
Aladin Bank, an Islamic bank in Indonesia, has announced a “strategic collaboration” with Google Cloud.
The bank says it “aims to provide ground-breaking Shariah-based digital banking services, by providing technology-led products and features that address the needs and aspirations of the Indonesian people”. To this extent, Google Cloud will help it create “a strong technology architecture and vibrant ecosystem”.
Budi Kusmiantoro, CTO of Aladin Bank, and a former Googler himself, says the partnership will cover areas such as cloud services, infrastructure, data analytics, and machine learning.
“Our in-house team is receiving strong support and training from Google Cloud’s engineers in Southeast Asia, who will help upskill our local talent in Indonesia,” he adds.
“Our technology team can be much more confident now because Google Cloud’s expertise is just a chat away whenever we need one.”
