UR Islamic Bank goes live with new core banking system from ICSFS
UR Islamic Bank for Investment has gone live on the ICS Banks Islamic core banking system from regional tech vendor ICS Financial Systems (ICSFS).
UR Islamic Bank for Investment provides Shariah-compliant banking services to retail and corporate clients in Iraq.
The bank’s chairman comments that the project was delivered on time and within budget and describes the software’s performance as “astounding”.
“We look forward to grasping all that ICS Banks Islamic can offer with its dynamic product building, to attain a competitive edge in the financial services industry,” the chairman adds.
Wael Malkawi, executive director of ICSFS, says the vendor has built “a solid reference base” of Islamic banks in the country.
ICSFS also has “the highest implementation, roll-out management, and after go-live support customer satisfaction” in Iraq, Malkawi claims.
Last year, First Iraqi Bank (FIB), which describes itself as “the first and only fully digital bank in Iraq”, also signed for ICS Banks.
