Alternative business lender ThinCats appoints tech leadership, plans growth
ThinCats, an alternative business lender in the UK, has appointed a new chief technical officer, Billy Ferguson.
He joins from Aldermore Bank, a UK-based bank for SMEs, where he spent over six years in various senior tech roles, most recently as head of IT.
Prior to that, he spent six years at Allianz Insurance, the last four as head of architecture and emerging technologies.
Overall, he has over 20 years of experience of leading technology teams, and creating and delivering IT strategies.
In his new role at ThinCats, Ferguson will be “leading technology and change supporting the organisation with scalable solutions as it embarks on an exciting strategy for growth,” he writes on LinkedIn.
ThinCats was established in 2011, with HQ in Leicestershire, UK.
“By combining the latest in data analytics with traditional lending skills and a regional network of business finance specialists, we create funding solutions from £1 million up to £15 million that are bespoke to the needs of every SME that we support,” the company says.
Earlier this year, ThinCats secured an additional £100 million in funding after extending its partnership with global asset manager Insight Investment.
