Ireland’s An Post partners Tink to provide money management services
Irish postal service An Post has partnered with European open banking platform Tink to offer new money management tools to users of its banking app.
As well as post and parcel delivery, the state-owned firm also offers current accounts through its An Post Money app, which launched last summer.
Powered by Tink’s Money Manager open banking tech, the new financial management tools have been integrated into the app and are now live across the republic.
Tink says its technology provides insights that help An Post customers improve their financial health by giving them a better understanding of their spending behaviour and the ability to manage their savings and set budgets to stay on track with their financial goals.
“The partnership with Tink is the next step in our transformation journey: to firmly position ourselves as a challenger to the banks in Ireland, and to give customers access to simple money management tools that will enable them to build their financial confidence,” says An Post’s financial services director John Post.
Tink was recently acquired by payments giant Visa for €1.8 billion.
The acquisition in June last year was designed to “help accelerate the adoption of open banking in Europe by ensuring a secure, reliable platform for innovation”.
