Kevin Guy joins UK challenger MoneeMint as COO
UK mobile-first challenger bank MoneeMint has hired banking veteran Kevin Guy as its new chief operating officer (COO).
Guy has 36 years’ worth of experience across banking and financial services, having worked at Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest Group across wealth management, premier banking and credit risk.
He will oversee the launch and operations of the MoneeMint Group across the UK, Europe and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), a political and economic union formed of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain.
Guy will also be tasked with ensuring the challenger is Shariah-compliant across the GCC.
MoneeMint founder and CEO Hassan Waqar says now is the “perfect time to expand our team and bring in industry experts to help us launch MoneeMint and grow in other markets”.
The challenger has raised $845,000 to date and launched a Banking-as-a-Service offering, MoneeMint Labs, in September last year.
The MoneeMint app provides a debit card, budgeting tools, cashback, international transfers with no hidden fees and wealth management products.
