Portugal’s Universo taps Mambu to expand digital financial services offering
Portuguese financial services firm Universo has tapped cloud banking vendor Mambu as it looks to expand its digital offering and boost its product development.
Universo, the financial services subsidiary of Portuguese diversified multinational Sonae, is aimed at families and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), helping them manage their finances.
The company has already launched a number of revolving loans for credit cards and fixed-term loans to its one million customers.
Universo chief operating officer Carlos David says: “Customers’ needs are changing constantly, and they demand more financial solutions than ever before.”
The partnership will enable Universo to “iterate” products at greater speed and provide a “personalised end-to-end financial experience”, Mambu says.
Andy Cash, regional vice president of Mambu EMEA, adds the collaboration will allow Universo’s customers to “manage their money better” and the company will “continue scaling our solutions for credit cards”.
