AstroPay promotes Sofia Lanza to chief banking officer, appoints new CFO
Payment solutions provider AstroPay has appointed Sofia Lanza as the company’s new chief banking officer (CBO).
Lanza previously served as AstroPay’s chief of corporate development. In her new role, she will be responsible for developing and managing AstroPay’s relationships and partnerships with global banking and payment service providers.
Coming from a legal background, Lanza graduated law school at Universidad de Montevideo and joined AstroPay as legal advisor in 2018. She is also a member of the board of directors of Cámara Uruguaya de Fintechs.
Last week, AstroPay also appointed Fayyaz Ansari as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
Ansari brings with him two decades of experience in the payments industry and previously worked for Skrill, Neteller & Income Access (part of Paysafe Group) as CFO of the firm’s digital wallet division and board member of its regulated entities.
His experience includes controllership, treasury, financial planning and analysis, tax restructuring, corporate finance, performance management, M&A and strategic planning.
Ansari will be based in the UK and will oversee all aspects of AstroPay’s global financial management and activities as part of his role.
Founded in 2009, AstroPay provides payment solutions and digital wallet services in Asia, Latin America, Africa and Europe. It has offices in the UK and Latin America and provides more than 200 payment methods globally.
