MX Technologies appoints Wes Hummel as its new CTO
MX Technologies, which provides access to financial data through open finance APIs, has appointed Wes Hummel as its new chief technology officer (CTO).
Hummel brings over 25 years of experience leading global engineering and technology teams to the company. Most recently, he served as PayPal’s vice president, site reliability and cloud engineering, where he was responsible for the company’s infrastructure and strategic direction, focusing on security, quality, modernisation and efficiency. He spent over 14 years at PayPal in various roles.
Prior to that, he worked at firms including Clarity Communications Systems and Motorola. He also recently served as a board member for the Arizona Technology Council to help transform the state into a national technology leader, as well as mentoring and empowering the state’s next generation of technology leaders.
Hummel will report to new MX CEO Jim Magats, who also joined the firm from PayPal this month.
Speaking on his appointment, Hummel says: “My passion is in building strong, efficient engineering teams that solve big, complex problems working in tandem with our product, sales, customer experience and marketing teams.”
