Paytech firm Cantaloupe announces executive leadership changes
US-based digital payments and software company Cantaloupe has promoted Ravi Venkatesan to CEO, effective from 1 October.
Venkatesan, who currently serves as Cantaloupe’s chief operating officer (COO), will take over the role from Sean Feeney, who will retire on 30 September. Venkatesan will also replace Feeney on the company’s board of directors.
Venkatesan joined Cantaloupe in December 2020 as its new chief technology officer (CTO) and was promoted to COO in February this year. Prior to Cantaloupe, he served as head of innovation at fintech firm Bakkt. In a career spanning over 20 years, he has worked at firms including Accenture and Bridge2 Solutions.
The company has also appointed Gaurav Singal as its new CTO, who will join from 12 September.
Singal joins Cantaloupe from the Georgia Lottery Corporation where he was the executive vice president and CIO. He previously served as CPO for XPO Logistics and vice president of technology at Goldman Sachs.
Headquartered in Pennsylvania, Cantaloupe provides end-to-end tech solutions for the “unattended” retail market, including payments processing, logistics and back-office management.
Its customers range from vending machine companies and gas and car charging stations to laundromats and metered parking terminal firms, among others.
