Zepz appoints Robert Mitchell as new group CFO
Global cross-border remittance platform Zepz has named Robert Mitchell as its new group chief financial officer (CFO).
In a career spanning more than two decades, Mitchell has held a number of financial leadership roles including CFO of PayPal’s Venmo, where he expanded Venmo’s platform to include cryptocurrencies, credit card and commerce services.
In his most recent role, he was CFO at Fast, an online checkout company where he also served as a director on the board. He worked at PayPal in various capacities for more than 11 years, and has had stints at firms including Cisco Systems, SVB Financial Group and TriplePoint Capital, among others.
Mark Lenhard, group CEO, Zepz says: “Based in New York, Robert’s expertise in running scaled global payments, credit and financial services operations makes him ideal to help enable the future growth of Zepz.”
Headquartered in London with regional offices around the world, Zepz powers remittances for WorldRemit and SendWave.
Following its Series E fundraising round in August last year, the firm claims its revenue grew 67% from $238 million in 2020 to $399 million in 2021.
