Global paytech GPS hires Kim Ohlrogge as chief product officer
London-based paytech platform Global Processing Services (GPS) has appointed Kim Ohlrogge as the firm’s new chief product officer (CPO).
Ohlrogge, who joins from Germany’s Nexi/Nets Group where she held the role of senior vice of president of product, has assumed the role with immediate effect. She has also joined GPS’ executive management team and will split her time between London and Berlin.
GPS’s new CPO brings more than two decades’ worth of experience in payments, e-commerce and financial services to the role, having held senior roles at companies in the US and Europe including TSYS and Digital River.
GPS CEO Kevin Schultz, who has been in the role in for three months, says Ohlrogge brings a “unique perspective” in the global payments industry, having spent time on both the acquiring and issuing side.
“Her deep payments knowledge and extensive international experience will be extremely valuable to our team as we accelerate the evolution of our product offering to meet the rapidly growing needs of our diverse global customers and expand into new countries,” Schultz adds.
At GPS, Ohlrogge is to lead the firm’s global product team as it looks to accelerate its product roadmap, developing issuer processing payments solutions for financial institutions and fintechs across the world, and support the company’s international expansion efforts.
Ohlrogge says she is “passionate” about the potential of new technologies to improve the speed, ease, and safety of the payments process for businesses and consumers.
She adds that she is joining a team “with the broad remit of advancing GPS’s customer-centric product roadmap, prioritising our technology investments, and increasing our experimentation to see how we can further revolutionise the future of payments”.
In January 2022, GPS added $100 million to its latest funding round and named Gene Lockhart as its new chair.
