Raiffeisen Centrobank partners Marqeta for digital banking products
Global card issuing platform Marqeta has partnered with Europe’s Raiffeisen Centrobank to power Raiffeisen Digital Bank’s banking experience.
Raiffeisen Digital Bank will offer customers in Poland and Romania a “modern, comprehensive” digital banking experience via digital accounts and debit cards.
Additionally, customers will be able to access their accounts through a mobile app, make contactless phone and card payments, and keep track of their transactions.
Raiffeisen Centrobank says it plans to build out its new service on a “fast-tracked” timeline and aims to accelerate rollout of the product to various European markets.
“We have seen growing demand for simple digital banking products with instant reaction time over the last years from consumers in our regions,” says Alexey Kapustin, board member of Raiffeisen Centrobank.
“To address these needs we have built the modular modern banking engine where we have leveraged one of the best cloud solutions on the market.”
Marqeta makes use of open application programming interfaces (APIs) to provide access to a scalable cloud-based payment infrastructure that enables customers to launch and manage their own card programmes, issue cards and authorise and settle payment transactions.
Headquartered in Oakland, California, Marqeta operates in 39 countries. Its recent clients include Uber and Evolve Bank & Trust.
