Cambodia’s ABA Bank taps Compass Plus Technologies for card issuance kiosks
Cambodia-based ABA Bank has partnered with Compass Plus Technologies to launch self-service card issuance kiosks, a first in the country.
The service allows for the issuance of international debit cards in under two minutes, including Visa, Mastercard and local Cambodian Shared Switch (CSS) cards.
After a successful pilot, ABA Bank now has 90 instant card issuance kiosks operating in more than 80 branches and ABA 24/7 self-service banking spots across the country. Since launching the kiosks, the bank says it has successfully issued 191,000 debit cards.
ABA Bank chief card and e-payment officer Sanzhar Abdullayev says the introduction of the kiosks forms part of the bank’s strategy of finding “innovative” digital and in-branch ways to improve the customer experience.
Igor Simonov, AVP, business development and sales manager at Compass Plus Technologies, adds that delivering the first instant card issuance kiosks in Cambodia is a “massive achievement”.
Earlier this year, Malta’s Moneybase, a fintech subsidiary of Calamatta Cuschieri Finance Group, partnered with Compass Plus Technologies to launch its new digital payments app and card issuing platform.
In the summer, Myanmar’s Yoma Bank also migrated its in-house processing centre to Compass Plus Technologies’ payments platform TranzAxis as part of its modernisation programme.
