Divido appoints new chief product officer, Gareth Lloyd-Owen
London-based checkout finance platform Divido has named Gareth Lloyd-Owen as its new chief product officer (CPO).
Lloyd-Owen, who has held a number of senior product roles across his 20-year career, joins from US home lending platform Roostify, where he was most recently VP of product. He initially joined Roostify in 2017 as director of product management.
In his new role, he will be tasked with building a “strong product culture within the business” and further developing Divido’s white-label platform as the firm looks to differentiate its offering from others in the buy now, pay later (BNPL) space.
Speaking on his appointment, Lloyd-Owen says the company “is solving an important consumer financing problem that is becoming even more prevalent in this challenging economic environment”.
Founded in 2014, Divido’s platform enables partnered merchants to offer branded BNPL solutions at the point of sale, with finance underwritten by lenders including Nordea and HSBC.
Last summer, it raised $30 million in a Series B funding round led by HSBC and ING.
Earlier this year, Divido named Todd Latham as its new CEO following the departure of founder Christer Holloman after seven years at the head of the company.
