Low-code platform Genesis Global hires Tej Sidhu as CTO
Low-code application development platform Genesis Global has appointed Tej Sidhu as chief technology officer (CTO).
Sidhu brings “deep experience” developing tech strategies and development teams across fintech firms, Genesis says.
Genesis Global CEO and co-founder Stephen Murphy says: “Tej will propel our platform strategy and lead our global technology team as Genesis becomes the foundation of software development throughout financial markets.”
For 16 years, Sidhu was CTO and head of R&D at Calypso (now Adenza), a trading, risk management and post-trade processing solutions provider for the capital markets.
There he oversaw the growth and modernisation of the platform and guided the company’s technology strategy through 2008’s global financial crisis.
In the last year, Sidhu was CTO at Umba, an Africa-focused digital bank.
At Genesis, Sidhu will be tasked with the overarching tech strategy at the firm, leading more than 200 developers and technologists.
James Harrison, co-founder of Genesis and CTO since 2015, will now devote his energies to engaging with Genesis’ largest clients.
In July, the firm secured $20 million in new funding from US banking giants Bank of America, BNY Mellon and Citi.
