Solaris CEO to step down in 2023, Carsten Höltkemeyer set to take over
Embedded finance firm Solaris has announced that current CEO Roland Folz will step down on 30 April 2023, with Carsten Höltkemeyer named as his replacement.
Höltkemeyer will become CEO designate and a member of Solaris’ management board on 1 November 2022 and will work alongside Folz to “orchestrate a smooth transition”.
Commenting on his time at Solaris, Folz says: “Looking back on my six years, I see an eventful growth story.
“Now is the right time to write the next chapter with a new CEO at the helm.”
Höltkemeyer has an “extensive” career in banking and fintech, Solaris says, holding several leadership positions in investment and retail banking, consumer finance and the credit card industry.
He most recently served as chief financial officer (CFO) at Nets Group and Concardis following a ten-year stint at Barclaycard, where he was CEO of the German market.
Höltkemeyer says the Solaris team has “steered the company well through a challenging market and paved the way for the next phase of growth”.
With his move to Solaris, Höltkemeyer hands over the chairmanship of the supervisory board at auxmoney to Ben Langworthy but remains a member of the supervisory body.
