The Bank of London hires new group CTO and group CISO, Phil Knight
UK clearing bank The Bank of London has appointed Phil Knight as its new group chief technology officer (CTO) and group chief information security officer (CISO).
Knight, who joins from 10x Banking, will oversee the firm’s technology, IT operations and information security globally.
The Bank of London’s group chief operating officer (COO), Jim Ditmore, says Knight’s “deep experience and leadership” will support the firm as it looks to drive “significant technological transformation in the banking, payments and financial services sector”.
With more than 25 years’ worth of experience, Knight has previously held senior leadership roles across infrastructure, security and architecture at Lloyds Banking Group and has worked in a consulting capacity for a number of Tier 1 firms across the UK, Europe and Australia.
Knight spent three years at 10x as CISO, leading the design and build of the firm’s security operating model and its global platform engineering team.
The news follows the The Bank of London’s appointment of a new co-president and group chief product officer in July and a new deputy CEO for the UK in April 2022.
The company launched in November 2021 at a valuation of $1.1 billion.
