Trading and investment fintech Saxo appoints Simon Camilleri as COO
Multi-asset trading and investment fintech Saxo has appointed Simon Camilleri as chief operating officer and board member of subsidiary Saxo UK, effective immediately.
Camilleri joins from Bank of America Securities where he spent 17 years working across a number of roles, including as chief operating officer and director of EMEA rates and global non-linear rates trading.
Before that, Camilleri was senior client liaison manager, global investment manager services, at State Street Bank and Trust.
Saxo says Camilleri, who began his career at Mellon Trust as a global securities specialist, brings “significant expertise and a wealth of front-office experience” drawn from multiple global markets trading desks, “an analytical background and strong track record of delivering business strategies, generating revenue streams and driving efficiencies”.
Saxo UK CEO Charles White-Thomson, to whom Camilleri will be reporting, says: “[Camilleri’s] depth and breadth of expertise across the trading and technology sectors will undoubtedly help Saxo as we continue on our ambitious growth strategy.”
Commenting on his appointment, Camilleri says he will be building on Saxo’s “well-known reputation” in both investment and trading as the firm continues to expand its footprint in the UK.
