UK fintech start-up Paytrix appoints David Sola as new CFO
London-based fintech start-up Paytrix has named David Sola as its new chief financial officer (CFO) to help shape the firm’s growth strategy.
Sola boasts 20 years of financing and M&A experience and has previously served as a managing director at industry heavyweights including UBS, Houlihan Lokey and Softbank Europe.
Founded this year, Paytrix is an embedded finance firm that “is on a mission to help online businesses scale smoothly around the globe” by simplifying payments processes.
The company says it is developing “the world’s first payments curation layer” and offers services including payment acceptance, Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) and real-time payout solutions to businesses. It is aiming to remove the need for scaling businesses to “commit people, time and money to managing payments across multiple jurisdictions”.
The hiring of Sola comes hot on the heels of the company’s £5 million pre-seed funding round in October led by Hambro Perks and featuring participation from Bain Capital Ventures, Fin Capital and Better Tomorrow Ventures, among others. The company hopes to use the new funding to scale its API-based platform.
Aran Brown, Paytrix’s co-founder and CEO, says Sola’s experience of the “complex payments challenges we’re trying to solve” will be a boost to the company’s expansion plans.
