Citizens Financial Group taps Paymentus for bill pay and money movement services
American bank Citizens Financial Group has tapped Paymentus to provide electronic bill payment and money movement services for its digital retail banking customers.
Through the partnership, Citizens will utilise Paymentus Bill Center and Paymentus Loan Payments, both powered by Paymentus’ instant payments network (IPN).
Paymentus Bill Center provides customers a holistic view of all their bills and financial obligations, as well as payment options including debit and credit cards. The firm says users also receive “immediate” payment confirmations.
Paymentus Loan Payments will enable Citizens customers to make loan payments using their checking/savings accounts, debit cards and digital wallets via web, mobile, SMS, IVR, chat and IPN channels.
Beth Johnson, chief experience officer at Citizens, says the bank’s recent growth has been driven by introducing new solutions that “help customers manage their finances in an increasingly fast-paced, digital-first world”.
Johnson adds that customer expectations around payments are “rapidly increasing”, and so “integrating real time payments and expanding money movement capabilities within our digital banking platform” was the next logical step.
