FinTech Futures Jobs: The top fintech companies hiring right now in the UK
The UK is considered to be one of the top global hubs for financial services thanks in part to its thriving fintech scene.
London has long been a global financial centre, but emerging clusters in cities such as Edinburgh and Manchester are also now gaining global recognition.
Access to world-class talent, a forward-thinking approach to regulation, access to capital and proximity to an innovative financial services sector all play an important role in the growth of both up-and-coming fintech start-ups as well as established players. Over the course of 2021 alone, the UK fintech industry attracted $37.3 billion in investment.
As the current cost of living crisis hit and interest rates rocketed, investment slowed down rapidly in 2022. KPMG informed the industry that UK fintech investment dropped to $9.6 billion in the first half of 2022 – down almost threefold from $27.8 billion in the same period in 2021.
This year may see access to capital become even more challenging, but many believe difficult economic conditions will only serve to propel the fintech sector further forward by creating an environment for entrepreneurship and innovation as consumers look for different ways to manage their finances in a cost of living crisis. Plus, an appetite for great products doesn’t tire.
Recent figures from Statista show that compared to other European countries, the UK has a higher than average fintech adoption rate when it comes to consumer adoption of fintech products and services. As a result of the demand for innovative and unique fintech services, there are plenty of new opportunities for tech professionals.
On the fintech job hunt? Below is a shortlist of some of the most innovative UK-based fintechs that are setting trends, helping drive growth across the entire sector and crucially, are hiring right now. For thousands more open roles, browse the Fintech Futures Job Board.
