Global ID verification platform ID-Pal names Tim Murphy as board chair
Global identity verification provider ID-Pal has appointed Tim Murphy as its new independent chair of its board of directors.
Murphy brings more than 30 years’ worth of experience as an “investor, advisor and director” in financial services firms to the role, the firm says, and will be tasked with developing ID-Pal’s growth strategy and overseeing its governance requirements following its €7 million Series A funding round.
Murphy was an early investor in ID-Pal and has sat on the board as a non-executive member since 2017.
Murphy oversaw the expansion of BNY Mellon in Ireland before holding several executive roles, with a predominant focus on M&A in the fintech space.
At Waystone, Murphy was the chief operating officer (COO) and chief financial officer (CFO) during the firm’s successful management buyout, before becoming an independent non-executive Director there.
Murphy has also served as director on the board of NBCGF, the National Bank of Canada’s Irish subsidiary, for nine years and is currently the independent chair of Geneva Ireland Financial Trading.
ID-Pal CEO Colum Lyons says Murphy’s appointment will help “drive the expansion of our identity verification solution to more markets worldwide”.
