Paysafecard CEO Udo Mueller departs firm
Udo Mueller, CEO of Vienna-based Paysafecard, part of Paysafe Group, has left the company after more than 22 years.
Founded in 2000, Paysafecard provides a range of payment solutions enabling “simple and secure” online transactions with cash. With a 16-digit Paysafecard code, customers can pay on the internet without needing an account or credit card.
Available in over 650,000 sales outlets in 60 countries, Paysafecard claims it reached a transaction volume of over €4 billion in 2019 and is used by more than 25 million customers.
“When founding this business in the year 2000, the expression ‘fintech’ did not even exist,” Mueller writes in a LinkedIn post.
“Over the years and in particular during the last 10 years as CEO of Paysafecard, we could grow the company to become the worldwide market leader of online cash payments, IPO on NYSE, and were able to drive continuous growth,” Mueller adds.
Mueller says that he will focus on “helping other companies and entrepreneurial fintech enthusiasts in their growth ambitions” upon leaving the firm.
