Askari Bank taps BPC for credit card and fraud management tech
Pakistan’s Askari Bank has tapped global paytech BPC for its SmartVista tech suite as it looks to upgrade its credit card and fraud management processes.
The bank will deploy BPC’s enterprise fraud management tech powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning models to help detect fraud across its digital channels.
BPC’s SmartVista suite comprises banking, payment and commerce solutions such as card management, digital banking, account switching, ATM management, payments processing and fraud prevention.
Askari Bank says the deployment of BPC’s solutions will support its ongoing expansion, which has seen its branch network reach more than 600 conventional and Islamic branches.
The bank has also opened a wholesale bank branch in Bahrain and representative office in Beijing, China.
BPC managing director in Pakistan Furrukh Ali Baig says the partnership with Askari is an important step in improving Pakistan’s digital transformation “with more scalable, secure and advanced technology”, adding the country’s banking sector is advancing “at an unprecedented rate”.
Askari Bank CEO and president Atif Bokhari says the partnership represents “a new approach to security throughout our financial initiatives and compliance”.
