Bahrain fintech Sinnad appoints Rana Almaeeli as CEO
Bahrain-based card processing and payments solutions provider Sinnad has appointed Rana Almaeeli as its new CEO, effective immediately.
With a “long history” of experience in card processing, payments solutions and the digital payments space, Almaeeli has held several senior roles at Sinnad, most recently having worked as a general manager for more than 11 years.
The CEO appointment is part of Sinnad’s efforts to scale its business offerings across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the African market.
Commenting on the appointment, Mohamed Ebrahim AlBastaki, chairman of Sinnad, says Almaeeli has been a “valuable asset” for the firm for over a decade, having played an “integral” role in setting up its foundation.
Sinnad, established in 2009 and regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain, provides banks, financial and non-financial institutions with card processing, and ATM and merchant acquiring solutions from systems outsourcing to full operations.
It is the card processing arm and a subsidiary of Bahrain Electronic Network for Financial Transactions (BENEFIT) known as Bahrain National Switch.
