Dominican Republic’s first neobank launches on Temenos Banking Cloud
Qik Banco Digital Dominicano has launched on Temenos Banking Cloud, making it the first digital-only bank in the Dominican Republic.
Qik is a subsidiary of Grupo Popular, one of the largest financial groups in Latin America, operating in the Dominican Republic and Panama. It manages more than $13 billion in assets and serves over two million clients.
Through the partnership, Qik will receive access to banking services through Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) on Temenos Banking Cloud. The bank will also utilise Temenos’ core banking and payment services on a pay-as-you-go basis, as it launches products such as debit accounts, savings and personal loans.
Qik will also be able to leverage business intelligence data and measure, reduce and report emissions, as well as comply with regulations, all while reaching sustainability goals.
Qik CEO Grullón Finet says the firm chose Temenos owing to its “successful track record” across Latin America, allowing them to provide a digital experience that “redefines banking” in the region.
