Global paytech Ingenico names Laurent Blanchard as CEO
Global paytech Ingenico has named Laurent Blanchard as the company’s new president and CEO. He has also joined the firm’s supervisory board and its board of directors, effective 3 April 2023.
An experienced global executive with a 25-year track record in technology, Blanchard will be based in Paris but will spend “meaningful time” in the firm’s largest markets, Ingenico says.
Prior to Ingenico, he served as chief operating officer (COO) at retail software company Cegid. Before Cegid, he held senior roles at global tech firms including IBM, HP and Cisco.
Ingenico chair and independent supervisory board member Catherine Guillouard says Blanchard’s “extensive experience” in enterprise management solutions, cloud-based services, and ecosystem enablement make him the ideal candidate to lead the firm to become “an integrated solutions focused leader in payments”.
These solutions include Andoird AXIUM solutions, Terminal-as-a-Service solutions, and its cloud-based Payments-Platform-as-a-Service strategic initiatives.
Gerrard Schmid and Rolf Stangl will step down as co-CEOs and continue with their roles as members of Ingenico’s supervisory board.
Schmid and Stangl say the new CEO’s expertise and skills “are precisely what we need to drive our transformation”.
Ingenico’s payments acceptance solutions are leveraged by more than 1,000 banks, acquirers, independent software vendors, payment aggregators and fintech customers.
The firm was acquired by global paytech Worldline in 2020. Two years later, it was sold to Apollo Private Equity Funds.
