Griffin hires new CFO and CRO to bolster leadership team
Newly licenced UK bank Griffin has expanded its leadership team with the appointments of Chad Ryan as its new chief financial officer (CFO) and Dora Grant as chief risk officer (CRO).
Ryan brings over 15 years of fintech and banking experience to Griffin, most recently having worked as CFO for Starling International during its authorisation process in Ireland.
He has also previously served as programme director and strategic advisor at the Scottish National Investment Bank and as finance director at Virgin Money. Before that, he held a number of senior roles within Lloyds Banking Group.
Grant boasts experience in governance, risk management and challenger banking, most recently serving as a prudential risk management subject matter expert at BDO. She has previously held CRO and operational risk roles at Legal and General, Barclays and Lloyds.
In her new role, Grant will be responsible for ensuring the bank’s risk management framework and compliance practices are “robust and comprehensive”.
Griffin received an authorised with restrictions (AwR) banking licence earlier this month. Last week, it partnered up with Cable in a bid to strengthen its financial crime controls.
Last year, FinTech Futures caught up with Griffin’s chief commercial officer Adam Moulson to learn more about the company and its plans.
